About U19.hu
U19.hu is an independent football scouting platform created to make emerging Hungarian players easier to discover, understand and follow.
The project focuses primarily on Hungarian U16–U19 prospects and unusually young players competing in senior football. Its purpose is to provide scouts, recruitment analysts, sporting directors, clubs and agencies with an accessible starting point for researching the Hungarian youth market.
Through a searchable player database, independent scouting reports and articles about Hungarian football talents, U19.hu aims to give promising players greater international visibility while offering football professionals useful, evidence-based information.
About the Scout
My name is Bence Zsákai, and I am an independent football scout based in Budapest, Hungary.
My experience includes collecting live match data at NB I, NB II, NB III and U19 fixtures for a live data agency, as well as contributing to an academy-level player database covering young Hungarian footballers. I have also supported recruitment research involving first-team transfer targets for a European top-flight club, combining video scouting, statistical information and individual player analysis.
These experiences have allowed me to observe Hungarian football at different levels, from youth and reserve competitions to senior professional recruitment.
I speak Hungarian, English, and Spanish. This helps me present information about Hungarian players to an international audience and communicate with football professionals from different markets.
Why I Created U19.hu
Hungary produces talented young footballers, but reliable English-language information about them is often difficult to find.
The most visible prospects may appear in youth national teams or at leading NB I academies. However, other interesting players are developing in NB II, NB III, reserve teams, smaller academies and foreign clubs. Many receive little international attention despite playing regularly above their age group or demonstrating qualities worthy of further observation.
I created U19.hu to make this player pool more accessible.
The platform is not intended to declare every listed player an elite prospect. Instead, it helps users identify relevant players, compare basic information and decide who may warrant more detailed scouting.
Scouting Approach
My approach combines live observation, video analysis, player data and contextual research.
When evaluating a player, I consider:
- His position and assigned tactical role
- Technical ability under pressure
- Movement and positioning with and without the ball
- Tactical understanding and decision-making
- Physical profile and intensity
- Mentality, communication and competitive behaviour
- Current performance and development potential
- Ability to adapt to senior or higher-level football
Statistics can support an assessment, but they never provide the complete picture. Age, playing time, team strength, tactical role, quality of opposition and stage of physical development must also be considered.
Whenever possible, scouting reports are supported by specific match observations rather than reputation, highlights or statistical output alone.
